The Mousab Khorma Youth Education Scholarship Fund (MKYEF)
The Mousab Khorma Youth Education Scholarship Fund (MKYEF) is one of the cornerstone programs of Ruwwad and was created in memory of Mousab Khorma, a Jordanian entrepreneur who passed away in the bombings which took place in Amman in November 2005. MKYEF is dedicated to supporting and empowering under-served youth in Jordan and the Arab World and carries a message of hope to young people all over the Arab world.
The purpose of MKYEF is to empower youth through granting educational scholarships in return for community service. The program also aims to expand young people’s horizons, expose them to different ways of thinking, explore their talents, develop their business skills, and unleash their potential to contribute to their society.
Since its inception, the Mousab Khorma Scholarship Fund has provided scholarships to more than 420 youth. In 2010, MKYEF supported 170 youth who have high initiative and live in critical social and economic conditions in Jabal Al-Natheef and the surrounding areas as well as 7 youth who live in Al-Beida, a Bedouin town in southern Jordan near Petra.
